TAX Manager – Business Service Center

We are looking for a TAX Manager to one of our Service Center partners to the Budapest location. The Tax Manager will be responsible to build and oversee an indirect tax compliance department primarily responsible for Value Added Tax (VAT) in Budapest, for indirect tax submissions for multiple entities operating within Europe. The key requirements of the team include preparing and reviewing filings, tracking payments, and related processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws & regulations.
This role will build and manage a team of formal direct reports which will be at least 3 direct reports within the Budapest Support Centre, in Budapest, Hungary.
Key accountabilities:
- Oversight of indirect tax compliance department in Budapest for indirect tax (VAT) submission preparation, payments, and related processes for multiple entities operating within Europe under the applicable tax laws and regulations of the 13 countries where VAT reporting is required
- Business partner to key areas of the business within Procure to Pay, Quote to Cash, and Fleet teams
- Manager of indirect tax reporting team of 3+ team members to be built by the candidate
- Process owner of indirect tax reporting for 13 European countries
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Finance/Tax area) qualification
- A recognised Tax or Accounting technical qualification
- Over 8 years of primary experience and practical knowledge of indirect tax principles, practice and law within or supporting a large multinational company including VAT filings outside of Hungary jurisdiction
- Fluent English language skills
- People management experience with directly leading a team
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience related to VAT configuration of common accounting systems and control environments such as Oracle or SAP system – is an advantage
